Agricultural Engineering is one of the major in Faculty of Agricultural Technology, it’s popular called Department of Agricultural Engineering. This department still maintaine website since 2004. This website experienced some turnover. The first version basic on flash and HTML, in this moment, it’s very dificult to updating the content, we must understod HTML or Using HTML editor like Dreamweaver on Wind$ OS. The Second Version based on Joomla CMS, this cms esay to updated the content better than the traditional website at all. The previous concept of this sites is joomla 1.0 basic sites with custom themes and another joomla extenstion. I have problem with Commnent Plugin and Shoutbox. there are the spam target from outer country. In other hand joomla requires a large capacity (more than 100mb)..hmm..it’s realy fat for simple based website.

Now, I am choose Drupal CMF for the new website base, the new concept is News Portal and Social Networking utilities. Drupal is a free software package that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content on a website. Tens of thousands of people and organizations are using Drupal to power scores of different web sites. this is the important of using CMS, thats licence. Drupal is open-source software distributed under the GPL (”GNU General Public License”) and is maintained and developed by a community of thousands of users and developers. If you like what Drupal promises for you, please work with us to expand and refine Drupal to suit your specific needs. This site began developed on March 2009 and now still beta version, because it’s more and more development in Content and another facilites.

Site Functionalities
Like most news sites, this portal has article, column and blog areas. Part of the site’s focus is in unifying community features with extensive site content. All site content must be categorized and easily maintainable. Publishing control is a critical feature for the newsroom team. Module Use
There are over 30 modules used for the site including another custom view and panel for create the custom front pages. This is some of the modules that are used:

1. CCK and Views are used to manage and display the content types. There are 3 main content types for the site
2. HTMLbox and EditNow are used to text editor, as we have found it to be more user friendly and reliable than anothe WYSWYG.
3. Event, this modules installed to managed the event and provided the Evevt registration.
4. Images, Image Cache for create custom image view on front pages.
5. Profile, it’s for managed the user profile and registration policy.
