Alkisah pagi itu, rekan sebangku dikantor ketawa2 sambil terheran -heran pas baca PLO-system, sistem informas perkantoram maya, yang intinya dia dan aku dikutuk diutus  ditunjuk untuk membantu tim ict dikti.., tanpa konfirmasi kepada kami terlebih dahulu.*glodhag* spontan kaget dan ga percaya..kok bisa…namun, setelah tret berjalan beberapa pertanyaan dan penjelasan, akhirnya kami bersedia untuk masuk ke tim ict, Yuda Nugrahadi di bagian Mail Server dan aku di bagian Web Development. Sungguh suatu kesempatan yang langka untuk anak yang kuliah di teknik pertanian, diberikan kesempatan belajar pada rekan2 yang ahli dibidangnya..oke..bungkus dah..
Pertemuan untuk membahas redesain website dikti sudah disepakati oleh kepala ICT dan dan akan diadakan di Bandung, tepatnya di Comlabs UNB eh salah ITB ;D.

Perkerjaan pengerjaan website dikti ini sebenarnya sudah dilakukan sebelumnya oleh tim ict dikti sendiri, namun karena butuh sentuhan desain dan sentuhan orag luar teknis, maka atas rekomendasi dari petinggi2, di tunjuk beberapa desainer yang mungkin bisa ikut membantu. Dari ITB ada mas Widi Nugroho, beliau adalah web admin dan desainer itb.ac.id, adalagi 2 rekan dari Binus Rudy Lee dan Yani Sinatra keduanya merupakan programmer dan network admin di Binus, hmm..sungguh pengalaman yang berharga, bisa bekerja bersama rekan2 yang jado dan ahli. Sayang sekali kerja bareng rame2 nya hanya selama 3 hari saja, kalau lebih lama kan makin banyak ilmu yang yang bisa dipelajari dari diskusi dan kerja tim. tapi kalau lama2 nanti bisa bangkrut diktinya bayarin penginapan di grand preanger..:D.

Pekerjaan hari pertama adalah pembuatan konsep desain yang baru, berdasarkan pengajuan mockup dan desain awal dari aku dan pak widi, dari hasil diski tim ict, disepakati bahwa model tri column masih menjadi basic untuk pengembangan web dikti, old school sih tapi ya begitulah.., hari kedua dilanjutkan dengan process slicing dan embeded css oleh Rudy Lee dan Yani Sinatra juga dibantu aku dan mas widi, rekan2 dari dikti menyiapkan content yang sudah di kategorikan berdasarka lingkup kerja dan bidang. Hari ketiga baru implementasi desain yang sudah jadi dan memasukkan konten hasil editing hari kedua..huff…selesai pada hari itu, namun masih banyak juga yang musti dibenahi, ayo temen2 bersemangat ..

The second step is arrange our sitemap based on brainstorming at the first step above, we can also used freemind od xmind to do this. the simple sitemap can help us to manage and simplify our work.

Third step is create design concept of our interactive layout and design using Vector Ilustrator, I am used Inkscape Vector Graphic Editor to do this, this tool is popular vector editor in linux environment. this is the preview of design.

The Fourth step is make the html layout, we can used our basic concept idea in above as a guide to create and manage out HTML pages. we need HTML editor to facilitate our editing process, the famliar text editor whose support WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) is NVU/Kompozer, but this program often crash if we open and edit many table or content. The fifth step is burning and duplicate our Interactive CD Project, we can use Brasero Cd Burning or K3b Cd Writing Program, before we
completed our job, we must create the start up script, we must create autorun.inf files into root project directory, this is the autorun code:

the last step is burning our Project on cd with Brasero or K3B cd writer program.

2. HTMLbox and EditNow are used to text editor, as we have found it to be more user friendly and reliable than anothe WYSWYG.
3. Event, this modules installed to managed the event and provided the Evevt registration.
4. Images, Image Cache for create custom image view on front pages.
5. Profile, it’s for managed the user profile and registration policy.

The 2nd browser is opera, it’s old player browser, the first experience used this browser, idid’t like to used is, i have many reason to avoid this browser:

css randering is not better than mozilla, (it’s ini older version of opera as i used to)
Adobe/Macromedia flash player cannot run as well
Minimum web developer tool (like firebug and webdeloper on mozilla)
Scrapbook facilities, and save page as complete web

Since opera 9.5 version, i’m gradually love this browser, it’s faster than my previous browser, rarely error if we open many tabs on one window, the development of good css randering and flash player compatibility make me choose this browser to my default browser application on my PC, we know about the New Generation of browser, there’re developed by goole, it’s Google chrome, this’s combine the benefits from another browser to giving birth the new generation browser, today the linux version of google chrome is not currently available, maybe in 2009 we can take part to use the new browser technology. In another side, we can use the complete multimedia and social networking browser, the name is flock browser, it’s support the social networking, it’s current popularity now, i have been used flock browser for my daily internet explore and another social networking, but i do not feel comfortable with this browser, it’s about memory consumption and consideration of the use of facilities that are less appropriate.

this’s my favourite tool to make anything about graphic design, create object and make the web from scratch. it’s like Corel Draw on wind$ platform. This application’s the first choice if we need any Vector ilustrator, in example in windows platform, we know Adobe Ilustrator, Macromedia Freehand and Corel Draw. We know about how to use legal tool to make our design and avoid the piracy, so we can use the legal and free graphics design software, This’s inkscape for you.

GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages. I’m use this application to optimize image and slice another picture. It’s very powerfull, we can call it “Linux Photoshop” ), we cna use GIMP to replace Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photopaint and Paint. This’s the GIMP Screenshoot.

Bluefish is an editor for experienced web designers and programmers. It supports many programming and markup languages, but focuses on editing dynamic and interactive websites. Bluefish is an open source development project, released under the GPL license. Ilike using Bluefish Editor to remote client editing via ssh, the editing process necessary filemanager, i’m using nautilus file manager to remote conecting to server and do the editing process. This application can replcae the webeditor like Dreamweaver or MS Frontpage, it’s better if we know the real code than see the preview only and make drag your mouse.

It’s have the same function than Bluefish Editor, but i’m rarely use this editor, this editor can’t remote editing, it’s because the QuantaPlus use KDE Environment to run as well, and my desktop dosen’t use the KDEdesktop. this’s the quanta view:

this’s the simple aplication the help me to pick colour from desktop to make a hexcode colour for css properties. we can use this application for color picker and get the html colour code. this’s the kcolour chooser capture
