One day in Singapore

Today I get experience to go to abroad, Singapore ..the rich people country. I have an opportunity to visit that country because I have task job in Batam Island, the instructor offering to visit the neighbor country with requisite passport and own money to go to that place. Fortunately, I have been made my passport one years ago, when I submit my document requirement for IDC scholarship. So that I just agree about that offer, we prepare some rupiah money to change to dollar Singapore. And ready to go abroad.

The trip started at 8:00 from Batam Island accompanied by a kind friend from Putra Batam University, named Mrs. Renny, thanks for the guide and a lot of information about that foreign place. The trip approximately 45 minutes with ferry boat, in my mind, ferry boat is larger than that boat, but I think that biat when I used just mini ferry boat. The boat can transport approximately 200 passengers. We arrived in batam at 10.AM, something interesting is there are different time between Batam and Singapore, Singapore is one hour earlier than batam. We have checked by security and Immigration officer, we must showed our identity, passport and another personal document..i think its very annoying..yeah but we must follow the rule and enjoy the trip.

Marina Bay

Merlion Statue

The first destination is marina bay, located in near of harbour that we arrived, we use taxi and pay 7 dollar for it. Marina bay have some special view like Marlion and casino building. Merlion is kind of animal with unique appearance, the head is lion and the body is fish, the Merlion statue put water outside from the mouth, this object is represent the Singapore view in symbol. We take some pictures for the personal documentation and looking around the facilities there.

Bugis Street

We continue our journey in lion country and visit the Bugis street, located in center of Singapore city. This place is the largest shopping street at singapore, with alot of product displayed by alot of seller. We will meet a lot of people with many tribe, there are Chinese, Malay , India and other. Bugis street with wide area and many people inside can make new shopping experience.

What’s your favorite Editor

At a time in information system class, we was introduced with web programming, we must write down our script and execute it in client. we must well understand about html and some knowledge about PHP scripting. we write line by line the code with combination of html and php to make user interface, of course in web based programming. To help us identify the code and separated the html tag and php tag, we must use modern editor, that supported syntax highlighting. Actually we can just use notepad (in win$ ) , gedit, vi , (in *nix) or text editor in mac but it will so difficult to understand and checking misstype in php or html tag. the lecturer suggest to use notepad++ for our editor.

I try to visit the information about this editor, and i want to install it in my machine, I think this is opensource editor that i can use, because it’s recommend by the trusted lecturer.. this is the official site. I try to find the appropriate extension for my mac..ooops..there are not available for my mac, it just for win$..after asking some question to Mr. Google, i found this editor..named smultron, this freeware editor with easy to use and of course good appearance. this is the more information about smultron..

Welcome inkscape 0.48…

Maybe this post log is late, but i think better late than never..actually I am so proud being opensource designer, i use inkscape for my task design (web and artwork), Since 0.45 till now i think inkscape is enough to make design that i need, this application is opensource and easy to use, i believe that you also can use this application in first try. Currently, this program supported many advanced SVG features (markers, clones, alpha blending, etc.).

The latest version available here, last week I installed inkscape on my wider (ubuntu 10.04) using .deb pakcage, although this new package not available on synaptic package manager yet, don’t worry..there are many way to install it, just google it and put your keyword related (deb inkscape). The new inkscape running well on my wider and ready to used. First impression, hey..where is the top tool bar panels?..where is the standart panels?…after a few second, i found that panels, located at right side of work place..hmm, that’s something new, and we must adapt with it.

In my whitebox (osx) I also install inkscape, even though this application dependent with X11 and feel running slowly, if i make complex design. In mac machine, it’s just simple installation, we just go to inkscape pages, and download the latest version (dmg), double click or drag the .App into the Application directory..

Time to (real) Study…

My previous log told about my new habit, yes ..study again. Study about almost fundamental activity which I did several years until now, Take the course about Information and Technology in Department of Electrical Engineering. I remembered the material given by the lecturer about fundamental differences between computer science and electrical engineering, in here we study about how to use the knowledge and practice in to solve real world problem. All of us trained with real world case problem and study to simplify the case to build model.

Something new in this class, especially for me..is we must code, in the previous study I just learn how to make program with visual application (delphi, vb) but now, we trained by the master of code. The lecturer said “we must get full handling of our code program, unlike the visual programming”, Ok sir…we learn for it..and in every completed practices we can say “happy coding”

Fight Back to School

I remembered about this movie, it’s 8 years ago, if i am not mistake. This movie tell us story about police man who’s back to school for some secret mission. This movie is so funny and give us simple joke and something stupid old student activity in school. That’s movie inspiring me to do like that..back to school, and fight for it.
On September, i must go to school again, continue my study like as my hope for this year. I choose school of electrical engineering for my campus, do you know, why i choose this school? This is my reason:

My educational background was not in electrical science, but some of course in my present study have study about applying electrical in field of agricultural engineering.
I want to study about computer and informatic as formally, not just about learning my self
My basic in agricultural engineering, i hope it will support in my next study.
The last reason…just this school that i can enter

I hope i can pass the exam and do the best for my institution and other ..

Access Denied login in Drupal 5.x

Today i have error report form faculty site administrator in our university, he was reporting about error in login process, the error message is

"Access denied You are not authorized to access this page"

firstly i thought that he forgot about the password or somebody change the access content configuration under /admin/user/access and made some inappropriate access list. I am also try to login with my personal account on that Drupal stuff, unfortunately the result is same with admin. the error message still appear and we cannot access the administrator pages. I try to nonactive some moduls authorization (chaptcha, mollom) and update the database tables using default update script. The admin still cannot login.

I asking to google and found some articles related, the problem’s relatively same but the way to solve the problem is varies, patch the moduls, includes and update the databases. I found the good articles based on the last option in my list. this is the articles. i will write step by step that i am doing to activate the website again.

Login to cpanel system, with type http://your-site/cpanel
Choose the database menu, phpmyadmin, the system will call the default database management
I press on button MySql, and the next is we will repair our table session in drupal “REPAIR table drupal_sessions” (without quotes), change the table with your table name.
Go..to execute the sql command.
Check the result, please login with the username:password
It’s working for me

Doni dan Leptop

Doni, seorang calon mahasiswa yang ingin punya Leptop atau notebook untuk bekal kuliahnya, setelah berkonsultasi dengan orang tua dia mendapatkan subsidi dari sekitar 5 juta. Masalah merek dan spesifikasi, orang tua Doni menyerahkan sepenuhnya, karena anaknya yang lebih tahu kebutuhan peralatan yang akan menemaninya menempuh perkuliahan. Dengan bekal budget dari orang tua itu bisa saja Doni membeli laptop yang biasa-biasa dijual dipasaran, dengan cepet asal dapet, namun hal itu tidak Doni lakukan, karena pemilihan notebook ini untuk dirinya sendiri dan kelak akan dipakai lama, misalkan awet tentunya akan menjadi aset yang tidak akan tergantikan.

Berbekal jatah subsidi tersebut, Doni mencoba mencari informasi, harga, spesifikasi dan support beberapa produk. Informasi didapat dari forum, review dan beberapa blog pribadi. dari beberapa review, Doni memperoleh beberapa merek Notebook yang menjadi rekomendasi. Informasi dari forum banyak memeberikan masukan dalam memilih dan menetapkan pilihan yang pas sesuai kebutuhan penggunaan nantinya.

Mondar-mandir [dot] com

Bukan..itu bukan nama domain web atau portal baru, tapi hanya sekedar istilah saya sendiri yang akhir-akhir ini spt ironman kesana kemari, setiap hari harus kesini dan kesana untuk mengabdi, mencari sesuap nasi untuk keluarga. begini toh yang namanya kerja *halah *, yang pasti dengan munculnya SK yang diributkan karena disinyalir dobel dan dimasalahkan di sana, maka jalan inilah yang saya tempuh, bekerja diduatempat sekaligus (disini dan disana), seperti freelancer yang terbang kesana dan kesini, yah..semoga bisa optimal dengan waktu yang terus berputar cepat.
Target yang nyaris terkaburkan
tahun ini keinginan belajar #nengjobo belum terkabulkan, dan harus berbenah lagi untuk berjuang mencari kesempatan lain, keterbatasan kemampuan dan waktu belajar yang kurang dirasa mengganggu, apalagi kerjaan yang ga habis2..beneran, rasanya mau belajar ga tenang kalau masih ada tanggungan yang belum dikerjakan..
Optimis
Tetap optimis dan berusaha menjalankan dengan usaha yang terbaik, Mengabdi yang bener-bener mengabdi, “if we’re not do this, somebody will kick us..”. so just be better that we can do..

Ingin aktif menulis (lagi)

Melihat postingan terakhir saya, *geleng-geleng sambil terkagum-kagum dan menyayangkan* ..wah.ternyata sudah lama sekali, hampir 3 bulan, tidak menulis diblog ini, blog yang disana juga terbengkalai , padahal setiap kali saya mengirimkan pesan email, selalu mencantumkan alamat url ini di signature, memalukan kalau jarang diupdate

Bismllahirrohmanirrohim…ayo semangat menulis lagi, banyak sekali hal yang ingin diceritakan disini, perihal kerjaan ataupun pengalaman lainnya, tidak penting sih, namun setidaknya menjadi catatan bahwa pernah mengalami kejadian yang wah, suatu saat kita akan tersenyum senyum sendiri jika membacanya diwaktu nanti..

Selamat menikmati masa purna tugas Pak Wid…

Pak Widodo, saat Kerja Bakti di KP4 Brebah

Pak Widodo, sosok bapak yang sederhana, santun, baik hati dan mengayomi, itu sedikit yang bisa saya sampaikan mengenai beliau, mulai tanggal 1 April ini beliau sudah tidak lagi mengajar secara rutin di Jurusan Teknik Pertanian, karena secara administratif sudah purnatugas atau pensiun, dengan berat hati pula laboratorium kami melepaskan satu lagi anggota terbaiknya untuk menjalani masa pensiun, semoga beliau selalu mendapatkan rahmat dari Alloh untuk menjalani hari-hari.

Saya kenal dengan Pak Wid, begitu panggilan akrab beliau, sebagai dosen pembimbing akademik, kala itu pertama kali bimbingan krs dengan teman seangkatan Indra Bayu Ardiansyah dan Athirah, pertama kal beliau memberikan pesan untuk bertemu bertiga bersama-sama dan sambil mengakrabkan antara satu dengan yang lain, namun kala itu tidak sempat untuk bertemu berempat secara bersamaan, selalu ada saja yang ada keperluan, sehingga tidak bisa bertemu bersama-sama. Akhirnya saya sendirian memberanikan diri untuk menghadap dosen pembimbing akademik, menurut informasi dari teman-teman yang mengurus krs dengan DPA, dosen biasanya susah ditemui, kalaupun ingin bertemu harus membuat janji dahulu, terbayang juga karena pas hari pertama ke ruangan beliau pintu ruangan selalu tertutup, akhirnya pada hari kamis saya dapat bertemu dengan Dosen pembbimbing akademik saya, Pak Widodo, diruangan beliau yang berada di lantai 3.

Senyum ramah dosen wali,…
Pertama kali bertemu beliau kesan pertama adalah tenteram dengan senyum ramah beliau memeprsilakan saya, mahasiswa baru untuk duduk dan berkenalan, ramah dan baik ..itu kesan pertama saat bertemu dengan beliau, saya menceritakan latar belakang keluraga saya, bapak dan ibu saya yang berprofesi sebagai guru sd dan lain sebagainya, selain mendapatkan petuah dan pelajaran hidup, beliau juga mengajarkan untuk selalu untuk tidak lupa berdoa dan shalat malam kepada Alloh, berbakti pada orang tua dan selalu berbuat baik serta selalu jujur.

“Hidup manusia itu sepenuhnya diatur oleh Alloh, maka dari itu kita harus senantiasa beribadah dan berdoa kepada Alloh agar dimudahkan dalam beribadah didunia untuk mencari bekal hidup diakhirat kelak”

kalimat itu yang masih saya ingat selalu, kaliamat yag beliau sampaikan pada saat bimbingan krs, untuk selalu berserah kepada Alloh dan berikhtiar, karena hanya Alloh satu-satunya tempat memohon pertolongan dan yang mengatur kehidupan kita, jika meminta dengan segenap hati dan bersungguh-sungguh pasti Alloh akan memberikan yang terbaik.

Masalah Jodoh dan Rejeki
Selain memberikan bimbingan krs untuk akademik, beliau juga sering menanyakan bagaimana kehidupan keseharian, khusunya yang paling mengejutkan saat itu adalah “Gimana Mas, kabar pacarnya sehat sehat saja kan?”, *gubrak* sentak saya tidak bisa menjawab pertanyaan itu, hanya senyum senyum saja, dan kemudian beliau mengerti maksud saya dan kembali memberikan masukan mengenai hal itu, bahwasanya jodoh dan rejeki dan maut sudah diatur oleh Alloh, jauh sebelum kita dilahirkan.
